MSC Splendida Detailed Description

MSC Splendida represents the Fantasia class cruise ship with a water displacement of 137936 tons and a passenger capacity of 4363 people launched in 2009. Since the construction, renovation (overhaul) of the vessel has not been carried out, and yet, according to the passengers’ reviews, the ship is in сomparatively good condition. MSC Splendida has an MSC Yacht Club VIP area like all the cruise ships attributed to this class. 


Accommodation


The area of the interior cabin equals 17 sq. m. and it can accommodate up to 4 passengers. Additional accommodation is represented by the Pullman beds which can be found above the main sleeping accommodation. In addition, there is an armchair and a coffee table; the mirror is located at the head of the bed visually enlarging the area of the cabin.

The area of the oceanview cabin is 18-21 sq.m. The maximum occupancy of such a cabin is 4 passengers. Additional sleeping places are Pullman beds located above the main sleeping accommodation. The cabin also has a coffee table and an armchair or two.

The size of a balcony cabin is equal to 22 sq.m. and the maximum number of passengers it can accommodate is 4. Additional accommodation is represented by a folding sofa. A balcony is equipped with a coffee table and chairs.

Please pay attention that there are lifeboats located directly in front of the balconies of the cabins which can be found on deck 8 in a deepening.

The area of the suite varies from 21 to 47 sq. m. One-room balcony suites are located on deck 12. Oceanview suites can be found in the bow part of the ship whereas two-room suites having a balcony are on decks 9, 10, and 11. 


There are one-room balcony suites of the Deluxe category with an area of 26-32 sq. m., as well as two-room suites of the Royal category with an area of 52 sq. m., and two-room oceanview suites of the Executive and Family Suite categories with an area of 45-53 sq. m.  at the MSC Yacht Club area.

Each cabin has a TV, an air conditioner, a hair dryer, a safe deposit box, a telephone, a mini bar, an ice bucket, and several glasses. There are two 220-V sockets in the cabin as well.  Passengers staying in suites are supplied with bathrobes and slippers. 




The bathroom is equipped with a shower cabin with a curtain. A rope for drying clothes can be found in the bathroom as well. There is also a liquid soap dispenser for washing hands installed. The dispensers containing shower gel and shampoo are installed in the shower cabin. 




Suites are equipped with full-sized baths.  





Food on Board MSC Splendida


The cost of a cruise includes food at the following restaurants:  

La Reggia represents the main à la carte restaurant and is located on decks 5 and 6. It is available for breakfast from 7 to 9 in the morning and for dinner. The dinner starts at 18.00 for the first seating, and at 20.30 for the second. The breakfast is served according to the first-come-first-served principle whereas for dinner all passengers have designated tables. 

Villa Verde is another à la carte restaurant on board located on deck 6. Breakfast here is served from 07.30 to 09.30, lunch is available from 12.00 to 14.00, and dinner is served there as well. Dinner starts with the first seating at 18.00, whereas the second seating is at 20.30. During breakfast and lunch, free sitting is practiced, whereas during dinner time each passenger has a designated table.



Bora Bora & Pago Pago is a buffet restaurant located on deck 14. It is open for breakfast from 6.00 up to 12.00; lunch here is served from 12.00 to 16.30, and dinner is available from 18.30 up to 21.00. Snacks are available from 16.30 to 19.00 and from 22.00 up to 02.00. Drinks (water, tea, coffee) are available round-the-clock.  

Santa Fe Tex Mex is an alternative specialty restaurant (to be extra paid) located on deck 7. It is open for lunch from 12.00 to 14.30 whereas dinner there is served from 18.30 to 23.00. A preliminary reservation of a table is required. 

To get to know the working hours of all the restaurants on board you should consult the program of the day. They may change depending on whether the ship is at sea or the port.
